CSA (Customs Self Assessment)
A CSA certification allows a transportation carrier to provide a
secure and efficient service from the United States across the Canadian
border. In order to qualify for the CSA program, the Canadian importer,
driver and carrier must all be CSA certified.
C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against
Terrorism) This U.S. Customs Service (USCS) program works in
conjunction with Canada's PIP program to provide maximum border security
while still permitting the free flow of low-risk, recognized trade. C-TPAT
is a prerequisite for FAST (Free and Secure Trade) certification.
FAST (Free and Secure Trade) is a joint Canada / U.S.
program to ensure tightened border security along with the efficient
movement of low-risk, known and legitimate commerce.
INPARS (Inland Pre-Arrival Review System) Shipment
customs documentation and information is processed while the shipment is
enroute to a customs warehouse in Canada.
PAPS (Pre-Arrival Processing System) This U.S.
Customs Automated Commercial System uses barcode technology to expedite
the processing and release of commercial shipments while minimizing border
delay and congestion.
PARS (Pre-Arrival Review System) Shipment customs
documentation and information is processed while the shipment is enroute
to the Canadian border entry point.
PIP (Partners In Protection) This Canada Customs
and Revenue Agency (CCRA) program works in conjunction with C-TPAT to
provide tightened border security while allowing the free-flow of trade.
