CENTRAL TRANSPORT ANNOUNCES 2010 GENERAL RATE INCREASE
Warren, Michigan, September 27, 2010
- Central Transport (CT), one of the nation’s most technologically advanced less-than-truckload (LTL) carriers, has announced a 2010 general rate increase.
In today’s changing economy, CT diligently strives to control costs. Some of these costs, in areas such as insurance, security, energy and rail transportation have continued to rise at a rapid pace. Given these fiscal realities and the marketplace requirements of remaining a strong, competitive transportation provider, CT will implement a rate increase averaging 5.3 percent for the United States and Canada effective today, September 27, 2010. The impact may vary slightly depending on specific lanes, rate schedule and shipment characteristics such as weight or class.
CT understands that changes such as these may not be welcome news. However, a survey of competitive carriers’ rate increases revealed those applied by CT are generally lower than those applied by most of our major competitors.
